Water Resilience Center

Design Statement
Water is not something to neglect but something to embrace. It is not enough to create sustainable architecture but the ecological should be part of people daily’s experience with the built environment. Water gives and also takes away. It is evident that issues are concluded by the lack of proper maintenance of water infrastructure and abandoned unused green that does not foster social use of space that responsive to the users.
The existing drainage form does not benefit the surrounding neighborhoods and provides a space for respite that enhances the quality of life. Widening the drainage increases the efficiency of the existing infrastructure. Integrating green-grey infrastructure provides a linkage to natural shading with the surrounding environment.
Urban water resilience is about more than just water; it’s about building cities that are more liveable, sustainable, and fair. In the context of urban flooding, ood resilience refers to the ability of a city to resist the impacts of flooding and return to its original state after the ood subsides. Cities should be flexible to adapt to changing ecosystems that help respond effectively to natural events such as food. For Kuantan, the public realm can be improved significantly by restoring the value of the existing water infrastructure to the public by improving its characteristics and attributes.
